My research has been focused on designing both in vitro and in vivo techniques for evaluating the safety of human ES cell-derived natural killer cells, via RT-qPCR and teratoma assays respectively. These studies are an essential step for this cell therapy to be utilized in future clinical studies. Additionally I have worked on differentiation of natural killer cells from various human ES cell lines, including both phenotypic and functional studies of the cell product. Side projects have also included analyzing the effect of an RNA editing enzyme inhibitor on the phenotype and function of peripheral blood natural killer cells.
