I am an inclusive leader that meets goals and builds lasting relationships that grow the bottom line. I come from a family of construction entrepreneurs—my people are engineers. So I came to the A/E/C industry naturally but turned my attention to marketing and business development. I enjoy building relationships with others, problem-solving, and creating strategic connections. Many underestimate the engineering | design | construction process—I find it appealing—collaborating with other professionals to create places that matter. I also come from a family of educators and I always wanted to help others and make a difference. I also taught students for 15 years and I loved teaching—in fact I earned National Board Certification. But I guess as a person who believes in continual growth and life-long learning, I yearned to tap into my other talents.I think it is important to give back to the community so, years ago I joined WakeEd Partnership’s Board of Directors. The mission is to bring private businesses and community leaders together to advocate for and collaborate with Wake County Public School System to empower teachers, students, and administrators. This board allows me to continue to have an impact on education within our community.
