In my current position as a Master Police, I apply my extensive knowledge of local codes, ordinances, laws and regulations to enforce motor vehicle and criminal laws, detect criminal activity in assigned territory, and promote positive community relations. Daily functions include:Effectively communicating with complainants to gather and assess information. Applying effective communication skills to diffuse high-stress crisis situations through active listening, empathy, and strong professional judgement. Liaising with departmental officers and external agencies to provide backup support.Additional functions include administering professional development and training to promote improved job performance and increase knowledge of departmental operations among officers.In my role as a community servant, creating and maintaining positive public relations with the community and providing education and information on laws, crime prevention, and community-related concerns through active participation in citizen and CAC meetings.

In addition to serving as Detective on the Cold Case Squad, I served as a detective of sex crimes. I possess experience in investigating high-profile critical incidents and complex criminal investigations. As an investigator, I applied my extensive knowledge of legislative and investigative procedures, technological advancements, and crime investigation techniques to gather evidence from multiple sources. I utilized my strong analytical acumen to examine records in order to isolate connections in the chain of evidence and related information. Key functions in this role included: ● Investigating violations of Federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to high-profile cases including child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Investigating critical incidents involving sworn officers, including officer involved shootings and in-custody deaths. ● Performing crime-scene assessments and arrests. Conducting interviews with victims, complainants, and witnesses to obtain and verifying evidence including timelines of events and leads. Securing physical evidence. Evaluating and examining information in databases associated with victims and suspects. ● Formalizing cases for court testimony and acquiring legal documentation including search warrants, audio/video surveillance, and witness statements. Testifying during judicial proceedings.● Continuously championing favorable results through communication and collaboration with authorities, investigators, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, Commonwealth Attorneys and US Attorneys.● Compiling information for detailed investigative reports, while leveraging specialized software programs to store data and evidence. ● Recruiting college interns and facilitating impactful training to improve the knowledge and skill set of new detectives in the investigative process and data processing.

I worked as a detective with a team tasked to identify and investigate and prosecute current crime trends. Areas of concentration included identity, financial and prescription fraud as well as violent crimes trends in concentrated locations. Duties included interviewing, data research and analysis, mobile and stationary surveillance, making arrests and formalizing cases for court.
