The Syracuse University Archives established this special archives in 1990 to:bring together in one place materials generated regarding the disaster and make those materials available for research, andprovide a place to personalize our students whose lives were lost; where their families can donate materials by or about them to let the world know in some way what has been lost by their deaths.In 2006 the scope of the Archives was expanded to include all 270 victims.I… Show more The Syracuse University Archives established this special archives in 1990 to:bring together in one place materials generated regarding the disaster and make those materials available for research, andprovide a place to personalize our students whose lives were lost; where their families can donate materials by or about them to let the world know in some way what has been lost by their deaths.In 2006 the scope of the Archives was expanded to include all 270 victims.I handled the day-to-day care of this special Archives. Accessions, arrangement and description of collections, donor relations, creation of finding aids, digitization projects and reference work was all part of my job description. I also assisted with planning of memorial events, handled media interviews and organized fundraising materials and a materials drive. I was the project planner for the Telling the Stories: The Pan Am Flight 103 Story Archives Collection project, which was begun in 2013 to correspond with the 25th anniversary of the bombing. Telling the Stories contains nearly 60 oral history interviews and a few written accounts of individual's experiences with the Pan Am 103 tragedy.I also undertook numerous special projects for the SU Archives, including a QR codes project that connected each campus building with a website about its history, as well as two online virtual exhibitions titled "Changing Women's Fashion" and "Gimme an 'S'!".
