In the beginning … Jefferson Title was founded in 1971 by Jared Wilkes a Notary and businessman who had a vision to build the most reliable and knowledgeable Auto Title Company in the area. Recognizing the customers need for FAST and EFFECTIVE service, he was one of the individuals who originally petitioned the state legislature to privatize some of the functions carried out by the DMV. It was partly through his pioneering efforts that we now enjoy the convenient services of Public Tag Agents, such as Jefferson Title Co., and across the state.
