The supervised student teaching experience at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) fulfills the requirements for state certification and provides a capstone experience in which I synthesize my knowledge acquired through previous studies and field experiences. The studentteaching experience provides a supported environment where I put into practice thetheories, curricula, and methods that I am using in my classroom under the guidance of amentor teacher and a university supervisor. This is preparing me to become the classroom teacher I want to be. I will be able to to integrate innovative resources and technology with time-tested approaches,understand how students with special needs and diverse backgrounds enrich schools and how to support their learning, and use curriculum standards and grade level expectations as a criterion to plan instruction and measure achievement.

I was responsible for creating a warm, caring and safe environment, to support children and teachers in ways that improve the overall quality of care and education. Responded sensitively to the interests, requests and needs of individual children, actively engages children in developmentally appropriate activities, assists in the implementation of curricula activities. At Pappy’s, I worked the counter and waitress in the dining room. I answered the phone, took walk in orders as well as waiting on people coming into eat. I was responsible for entering all bills into the register. At the end of the evening, I was responsible for totaling the receipts and closing down the cash register. I also ensured that the supplies are stocked and the restaurant is clean.

I started as birthday party supervisor I would set up, serve food, help move the children through the gym activities, and clean up. I also scheduled the parties, ordered the food and collected payment. My other responsibility was teaching several toddlers gymnastics classes a week.
