As a member of the the in-person class of 2022, I engaged with political, civic and business leaders whilst also actively participating in a program of personal development and policy debate in Washington DC and in New York City.

I conducted a policy review for the Office of the Provost whilst interning at CUA. After writing my report, I presented my findings to the Vice Provost for Academic Operations and Strategic Planning. My recommendations were further presented to the policy review committee for adoption.

I managed and developed Omagh Community House’s Good Relations Programme Action Plan which included coordinating the “New Beginnings – Community Voices” project. I planned and prioritised a demanding workload to provide support and assistance to local groups by arranging training opportunities. I prepared quotes and tenders adhering to procurement guidelines. I prepared accurate and timely reports to the Board of Directors at Omagh Community House and The Executive Office, and I also researched and wrote grant applications in accordance with the project.

I was a member of the 2021 virtual Washington Ireland Program for Service and Leadership. I carried out an online internship with DDC Advocacy, producing a business expansion plan and worked within a small group to draft a policy paper on how might Ireland and Northern Ireland ensure that health and social care provision is equitable and sustainable particularly based on lessons drawn from the COVID-19 pandemic. I engaged with fellow class members, WIP alumni, policymakers and community leaders through interactive zooms and the exchanging of ideas on the challenges facing Northern Ireland and Ireland.
