A year-long senior design project focused on creating a comfortable, supportive, and nonrestricting sports bra through vibration damping and oscillation control. Applied technical textile knowledge to fiber, yarn, and garment patterning to achieve a hypothesized optimal damping coefficient and breast movement path during athletic activities. Gained hands-on experience of the product development process starting from the ideation and creation phases (tech packs) to the testing and analysis phase (athlete wear trials).

Gained first hand experience with professors and industry partners while working as a student assistant. Obtained in-depth information about the College of Textiles in order to direct and communicate with students about events around Centennial campus. Investigated and optimized the routing process of various military performance styles through tenter pass reduction. Conducted lab trials to provide cost savings to the Enterprise plant without altering desired fabric properties. Gained experience within the chemical wet finishing department. Operated beside the lead engineer to optimize recipes to save time and energy in the heat-setting department. Conducted lab tests (bending stiffness, skew, shrink force) on fabrics to confirm minimal variations between the new heat set recipe specifications before sales. Presented the savings to the national sales group of North America: Voith.
