The best part of market research and analysis is the opportunity to learn new information or a new market every day. Each market has its own identity, its own functions, and its own impacts, but everything is connected in one way or another and sometimes in the most surprising ways. I began my career into market research by graduating from the animal science program at Iowa State University. Growing up raising beef cattle, I felt the direct influence of the fluctuations of the beef market and had a desire to understand them to a greater degree. This led me to pursue an internship in animal agriculture where I developed my skills for market research, international business, communications, and strategic planning. After graduation, I had the opportunity to apply these skills in a whole new world of machinery manufacturing. Throughout my time in machinery market research, I have broadened my skills into financial analysis, economic analysis, and data analysis. I have been able to provide insights and direction into the renewable energy, infrastructure, mining, waste and recycling, and agriculture industries domestically and internationally. Looking back, it seems like quite a bit to manage, but when you love what you do it really just comes down to a new day, a new market, a new thing to learn.
