About Cara O'Malley

Program Manager and Account Manager with experience driving complex projects, establishing strong and positive stakeholder relationships, and building effective teams with strong culture. Big believer that being effective and being kind are not mutually exclusive.Hi there, my name’s Cara! If you'd like to learn more about me, please read on and feel free to reach out if you'd ever like to chat!About me:I am currently a Senior Partner Success Manager at Coursera, the leading e-learning platform that provides accessible education opportunities to millions of learners worldwide. In this role, I work with Coursera's top university partners to help produce many of Coursera's quality courses. Before Coursera, I worked at the eLearning startup, Construct, where I led teams to create online educational courses for a variety of clients and managed two partnerships for the company. There I also helped build the company's Project Management department as it grew 800% in my first year via standardization, onboarding, and hiring.Outside of my 9-5 work, I run an educational YouTube channel discussing the intersection of personal finance and pop culture with over 150k followers. What I am passionate about:I am incredibly passionate about education — specifically, education accessibility. My passion stems from a very personal place. My family’s trajectory was completely transformed for the better when, several decades ago, my grandparents lucked into a chance at good schooling in the Philippines. The power of that educational opportunity opened up the world for my family. Having seen what education can do, I want my work to help as many people as possible get their fair shot at a great education.Other things to know:I love diving into new things outside of work! Currently, I'm learning Spanish and learning how to produce electronic music. I am also an alumni interviewer and alumni mentor for Duke University. I'm a big fan of hiking, reading, rollerblading, board games, and travel.

Listed skills include Leadership, Writing, Collaborative Problem Solving, Final Cut Pro X, and 39 others.
