For the spring semester, I worked with Virginia Tech's Prison Book Project, assisting with major functions of the program. VT PBP was started in 2021 to provide books to incarcerated readers as a form of educational justice. Prison Book Project sponsors fundraisers, book fairs, book drives, and wrapping parties in order to accomplish this goal. In my role, I helped outline future growth, organize book inventory, respond to letters, wrap books, answer student questions, and write the monthly newsletter.In the fall, I served as the GTA for an asynchronous section of Intro to African American studies, with over 100 students enrolled. My core responsibility is grading and providing feedback on student work in a timely fashion.

Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is a 95 acre park including three lakes, the Korean Bell Garden, Volgenau Conservatory, and more. While employed, I led class for the Preschool Nature Nuts program and tours of the garden.

I worked independently to redesign the town’s exhibition chronicling its history, including organizing and cataloguing museum inventory of artifacts dating back to the Civil War

Graduate assistant for the Department of Religion and Culture at Virginia Tech. I assisted a team of faculty members with a VR/XR project, including an Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposal and protocol design. I also helped the Student Engagement Coordinator with a section of Intro to Appalachian Studies and open house recruitment events.

I served as a peer mentor for first year students through the VT School of Communication's First Semester Experience class. In this course, we help the students make the transition to college by helping them create a four year plan, providing various panels, and giving feedback on assignments.

In this role, I was responsible for making daily lesson plans, operating the team social media, teaching 50 swimmers between the ages of 3 and 10 how to swim, organizing and managing a developmental swim meet, and communicating with parents in a professional manner.

My responsibilities in this role included:- Communicating with new undergraduates through canvas discussion boards and zoom "office hours" answering students' questions and assisting with the technical questions related to drop/add and other relevant topics of being a student in CLAHS- Presenting to new CLAHS parents at the parent's session and participating in the Q&A sessions with parents- Event planning for an in-person College wide event for new CLAHS students during welcome week- Taping weekly videos on "hot topics" for each week of Orientation for posting on Canvas and/or the CLAHS Orientation webpage for new students- Assisting with the college evaluation of New Student Orientation

In this role, I assisted the Head Coach with lesson plans, planning meets, and teaching foundational swimming techniques. I also jumpstarted and managed the team's social media account as a way to connect with swimmers, coaches, and other teams in a fun and engaging manner.
