As a third generation Shugoll, marketing research is in my blood. My love of marketing began as a young girl while chatting with my parents over dinner about what they did for a living at Shugoll Research, a marketing research company founded in 1957 by my grandmother, Joan Shugoll, and eventually diversified and run by parents, Mark and Merrill Shugoll.My passion for understanding the consumer only grew as I completed my undergraduate and graduate education and started my career. After working for one of the largest international marketing research companies in the world and spending time at a packaged goods company to understand the research industry from the client’s perspective, I was ready to join my folks at Shugoll Research as the first of the third generation in the family business. After spending 10 wonderful years providing full service consulting services at Shugoll Research and being mentored and trained by Mark and Merrill Shugoll, both pioneers in the industry, my business partner, Rick Seale, and I decided to branch out on our own to start Limelight Insights, a next generation Shugoll company. Limelight Insights was developed to serve the ever-changing needs and demands of the marketing research industry, with a renewed focus on virtual marketing research. As it has become more challenging, risky, and expensive for researchers, clients, and participants alike to engage in in-person research, Limelight Insights has taken virtual research to the next level by deploying what has already become an industry-leading, online qualitative research platform called Limelight.
