Teaching elementary school is a deeply complex and demanding profession. To do the job well, it requires a level of analysis, critical thinking, empathy, and time management that's difficult to visualize. An "educator's brain" is a unique entity; it is detail-oriented, organized, focused, and has a keen sense for complicated logistics.I have 21 years of experience managing all of that, and also:✔️ Planning and facilitating inquiry- and project-based instruction✔️ Utilizing the Gradual Release of Responsibility framework to scaffold learning✔️ Applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning toward long-term lesson planning for both children and adultsI successfully adapted curriculum to e-learning platforms and have participated in more "data dives" than I can count! I have developed countless lessons and units of study across all subject areas, most notably a Financial Literacy Unit used by teachers for the past 7+ years.In 2017, I was inducted into the Golden Apple Academy of Educators and awarded a sabbatical at Northwestern University.
