A technology that I've been worked to successfully develop & obtain several patents since over the last few years, it allows coal companies to develop revenue positive opportunities to beneficiate production and pond fly ash fractions. This patented and now robust technology has been developed through nearly $5M in direct investment, creating multiple opportunities to turn this long forgotten liability into a multi component series of revenue generators while simultaneous reducing corporate liabilities, social burdens, offering robust improvement to the GHG profile of any coal-fired power plant. This industry now has the ability to generate a zero or even negative GHG Portland cement supplement, opportunities over rare earth element recoveries and additional fuel sources offering a viable, scalable technology application with excellent returns and global reach in opportunities for enhancing clean coal energy as a technical product platform in precisely the same way that the oil industry created the petrochemical industry as a waste management exercise.

Additional technologies to come are in mining, nanotechnology, metals, water treatment, coatings and paints, fly ash management.The first application of its patented and proprietary technology is the design, scaleup and commissioning of a $3M demonstration facility for Ronin8 Technologies. A Vancouver-based company, Ronin8 is creating a world-leading approach to electronic waste remediation, extracting and recovering precious metals from printed circuit boards common in computers and cellular phones through novel applications of its patented processes. As Vice President, Engineering, I work within a tightly knit and highly motivated team to achieve the scale up of the process, interacting with provincial and federal government authorities to assist in the development, funding and expansion of this technology application, and numerous others.

As the sole member of the development team with operations experience in zero effluent systems, I was the junior member of a high experienced "skunkworks" team assembled to take the positive results of the zero effluent teachnology developed and implemented in meadow Lake, SK at the Millar Western BCTMP mill.My duties entailed developing the concept, leadin all R&D program deliverables, designing a field pilot plant for the destruction of waste sludge from mill effluent, known as the "BioCracker" process.The company had undertaken a $20M retrofit for a client in N. Quebec for an installation of a zero effluent system in an idled pulp mill. I functioned as a project leader/manager, communicating with the client and staff in an very challenging bilingual environment with extremely tight deliverables and resource constraints.

Work entailed commissioning essential process equipment (clarifier, sludge press, evaporators, effluent biological polishing ponds), working closely with operations staff to develop and optimize procedures in a continuous improvement culture.
