I am a Senior Research Officer working in the Agri-tech space at CQUniversity. My role at CQUniversity is looking at the use of on-animal sensors for disease preparedness and traceability of beef cattle through the value chain. In my previous role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Charles Sturt University, I was involved in a project investigating the pathology and epidemiology of pregnancy loss in thoroughbred horses in Australia.In my previous role as STEM Project Officer (CQU), I planned, developed and implemented activities and events that support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to increase participation in STEM careers through tertiary education. Many of these activities and events were focused on extension of research and teaching conducted at CQU.I have a PhD in livestock health and epidemiology, a Bachelor of Science (Hons I) and a Bachelor of Equine Science. I have a strong interest in animal health and impact of disease within livestock production systems, and a passion for conducting research that provides practical and sustainable outcomes. I also have a passion for extension and sharing research and outcomes with the wider community - this is who we do it all for! Outside of work I enjoy snowboarding, camping and riding my horses!
