Trained as a scientist, her personal health crisis prompted her to dive into the worlds of neuroscience, biology, psychology and all things under the “brain wellness” umbrella. Truly a Wounded Healer, her gift is to simplify complex theory into practical and digestible strategies that set the foundation for audacious and authentic living. Her community is a safe haven for vulnerable conversations and shedding the Superwoman facade.  The name is inspired by the "inner voice" we want to nurture or strengthen - our "Girlfriend Voice"; it is the opposite of your persistently harsh Inner Critic.  Your Girlfriend Voice is the supportive, wise, solutions focused voice who disempowers the Inner Critic. After the death of her son Eric in November 2022, Cara decided to turn pain into purpose and train with David Kessler as a peer support grief educator, specializing in supporting parents who have lost a child to Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Since 2011, Cara has been sharing her journey with women worldwide.

American Preclinical Services (APS) acquired the portfolio of preclinical pain assays (equipment and methods) previously offered by Algos Preclinical Services, LLC. APS has been offering preclinical services focused on the medical device and combination products areas with focus on large animal safety and performance studies since 2005. In 2012, the Minneapolis based APS added a newly constructed 20,000 ft2 small animal facility and in-vitro laboratory to their existing 51,000 ft2campus. The addition of the small animal facility and in-vitro laboratory has allowed the APS team to expand their preclinical offerings to include biocompatibility testing, toxicology, and now pharmacology services.Algos was a premier contract research organization (CRO) focusing on preclinical pain in vivo services, and providing critical support to its clients in the pharma/biotech and medical device industries.

This dynamic role will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, providing consultative solutions and required support; be an expert in utilization of the mouse as a platform basic biomedical and drug discovery research and in the solutions provided by the Lab to solve research problems; and provide regional management including planning, implementation of plans, and reporting of results.
