As registered manager, responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the homes, based on a high standard of professional practice, and the provision of a warm homely environment, focusing on individual needs working with people with severe learning disabilities and communication needs.Duties included recruitment / induction / training of new employees, organising 24 hour cover, supervising / appraising staff performance, assessing individual needs / developing and implementing care plans / evaluation and monitoring of care, planning and chairing reviews, providing “on call” cover to deal with emergencies, liaison with families and other agencies - Social Services / day services / registration & inspection / contractors etc., ensuring consistency and quality of service provision, responding to changing needs / situations, problem solving, monitoring finances - individual’s monies, homes budget, purchase orders, etc. Additional responsibilities included providing training at Regional Office and providing managerial support, (including quality audits and staff supervision) to a supported living scheme.Other work based achievements include developing record keeping e.g. a recruitment pack, induction / training record, handover file. Also developed a number of training packs / information booklets - e.g. orientation guide, introduction to epilepsy resource pack, fire training package, summary of the requirements of the residential care homes regulations.
