Experience included a seasonal recruiting contract at Poly (formerly Plantronics) headquartered in Santa Cruz, where I managed 30 open requisitions and worked with multiple hiring managers to fill internships in time for the summer program. This was a fast-paced, deadline-driven contract involving a high volume of open requisitions and frequent contact with candidates and coordination with hiring managers. I was responsible for managing the candidate experience from the first contact through the offer. I enjoyed connecting with the students and collaborating with a variety of hiring managers, all of whom had different priorities and styles of working. Duran HCP also offered an intensive in-class sourcer training program and then placed participants as contract sourcers/recruiters. The program focused on technical sourcing and recruiting, setting candidate expectations, role plays and practice calls, HR best practices, US work authorization status, compensation, working with hiring managers and specific techniques for sourcing candidates (Boolean searches, profile research, email, screening calls, list directories, diversity sourcing, networking options, internal referrals). The program was an excellent bridge from my marketing experience to recruiting and sourcing and helped me land my first contract recruiting role.

Sourced management positions for large agriculture client, including director of operations and financial analyst. Generated a flow of candidates through extensive research of professional associations, alumni associations, university programs, Ag Tech Meetups, job boards and ad postings. Leveraged contacts in the community using outbound emails and phone calls to identify passive candidates.

Journeyworks produces friendly and creative health promotion materials for public health departments, school districts, hospitals and social service agencies. I was on the founding team of six and became the backbone of all of our B2B direct marketing and the production of magazine-style catalogs. Marketing & List Strategy The marketing team, made up of top-level graphic designers, copywriters, mail list managers and sales staff, generated 80% of the company’s sales. I hired, managed and led the team. I was responsible for building a robust customer and prospect list through in-depth offline and online research that was central to the company’s success.Product Strategy I partnered with the publisher, editorial director and operations director to hammer out the direction we wanted the company to take, and on sales forecasts and metrics. Client Outreach Networking was a big piece of what I did as well, representing the company at national conferences and planning and staffing our trade show booth presence. Recruiting and Hiring One of my favorite responsibilities was handling hiring for marketing and sales staff, including a national search for a Sales Director.

PCS is ranked as one of the top charter schools in the country. I was elected through a competitive process for the Board, and served as Board VP and Board President. I headed up the search committee for a new school leader, an intensive and thorough 18-month process. I selected the hiring committee, led candidate sourcing strategy, reached out to a large contact list, developed a detailed job spec, set up an applicant tracking system, identified and vetted a diverse candidate pool, and consolidated input for many diverse stakeholders.
