Experience included a seasonal recruiting contract at Poly (formerly Plantronics) headquartered in Santa Cruz, where I managed 30 open requisitions and worked with multiple hiring managers to fill internships in time for the summer program. This was a fast-paced, deadline-driven contract involving a high volume of open requisitions and frequent contact with candidates and coordination with hiring managers. I was responsible for managing the candidate experience from the first contact through the offer. I enjoyed connecting with the students and collaborating with a variety of hiring managers, all of whom had different priorities and styles of working. Duran HCP also offered an intensive in-class sourcer training program and then placed participants as contract sourcers/recruiters. The program focused on technical sourcing and recruiting, setting candidate expectations, role plays and practice calls, HR best practices, US work authorization status, compensation, working with hiring managers and specific techniques for sourcing candidates (Boolean searches, profile research, email, screening calls, list directories, diversity sourcing, networking options, internal referrals). The program was an excellent bridge from my marketing experience to recruiting and sourcing and helped me land my first contract recruiting role.
