Layout Designer
CurrentProvide specifications, instructions and layout designs for installation of electric distribution facilities; check electric construction for compliance to drawings, specifications, codes and standards.-Provide specifications, instructions and layout designs and draw sketches for installation, relocation and conversion of overhead/underground distribution facilities.-Collect information/visit proposed site of installation; confer with/provide technical assistance to customers, contractors, architects, consulting engineers, etc.; draw rough sketches/take field measurements.-Receive/field check voltage complaints; operate various electrical instruments such as voltmeter, ampmeter, metrotec locator, ohm spun resistor, recording meter, service and conductor tester; investigate customer damage claims.-Follow up jobs from conception to completion; check construction for compliance with drawings, specifications, codes and standards; report any deviation to appropriate personnel.-Check construction progress/coordinate work with engineering, construction, city, county, state and other entities; update primary maps.-Check location of distribution facilities such as duct lines, manholes, vaults, poles, anchors and guys; size transformers, fuses, conduit/conductors; size and locate meters.-Maintain equipment usage; write maintenance orders/requisitions; complete all paperwork/forms for job completions.
