Carl is a Partner of Deloitte Tasmania and heads the Hobart Audit & Assurance practice covering listed entities, government businesses and private companies. He was the Managing Partner of Tasmania from 2013 to 2021. During his 29 year career Carl has worked across many industries but is known for his public sector, energy, agribusiness and consumer products knowledge and experience. Carl is also involved in investigations and conduct related issues.Carl is passionate about creating an inclusive and diverse work environment and contributes some of his spare time to helping transform education outcomes in Tasmania - whether this be through advocacy, public speaking or his support of the not-for-profit organisations in this space.After 15 years away, Carl returned to Hobart in 2012 to lead the Hobart Audit practice. On 1 June 2013 he took over the role of Managing Partner for the state.Carl has been involved in the Electricity industry for over 15 years. In that period he has worked to resolve asset valuation and revenue recognition issues, assisted the AER in defining regulatory requirements for the first time application of a RIN, acted as part of the delegated auditor teams on Generation, Transmission and Distribution entities and more recently provided advisory services to transmission entities. Carl was the lead audit partner on the appointee audit of Hydro Tasmania on behalf of the Tasmanian Auditor-General. Carl has also worked across the full sector of the mining cycle including - exploration, owner operators, joint venture investors, contract miners and mining service providers. Upon returning to Hobart, Carl has become heavily involved in agribusiness including the aquaculture industry and was the signing Partner of Tassal Limited for many years. He is also the former partner on Webster Limited prior to its relocation to NSW and continues to be involved in the sector.
