Oversees the design, installation, administration, and optimization of UA Little Rock's servers and related components to achieve high performance, reliability, and efficiency. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the hardware, virtualization, server, storage, and backup environments. This also includes the responsibility of managing procedures related to the identification, prioritization, monitoring, tracking, and coordination of systems and server support. Responsibilities:- Develop strategies for hardware, virtualization, systems and storage architectures;- Act as project lead in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware, conduct capacity planning as needed;- Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvement activities, including ongoing risk assessments, documentation, and disaster recovery;- Coordinate and collaborate with networks applications and programming support, project management, software development, database administration, and distributed departments to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of university systems to meet campus demands;- Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server/system security;- Lead and coordinate key process improvement initiatives as they relate to systems/servers;- Advise and assist various departments in system evaluations, purchases, installations, and support;- Generate detailed requirements and specifications for data center environments and systems;- Responsible for the management and completion of system projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within quality and budget criteria;- Analyze performance of systems team, overseeing the departments monitoring incidents, problems, and resolutions;

Distributed director of technology reports to the dean of UA Little Rock College of Education and Health Professions (CEHP) inclusive of five academic departments, and is primarily responsible for overseeing all CEHP technical systems, data systems, and college applications in addition to their administration. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining any technical documentation for policies, procedures, and standards regarding these systems and their impact on the college.Responsibilities:- Primary advisor to the dean(s) regarding technical needs and direction for the CEHP;- Represents dean(s) goals, intents, and expectations to external entities when authorized and instructed;- Primary advisor for equipment/software purchases;- Provides technical strategic plans and reports for technology purchases;- Provides comprehensive snapshots and reports of infrastructure health, scalability, and technical issues;- Identifies and promotes opportunities for faculty and program development in IT-related areas;- Works with designated vendors to troubleshoot and replace faulty equipment. Provides faculty, staff, and administration with support for enterprise systems and emerging technologies;- Provides written reports and updates in addition to monthly touch-base meetings to administration, faculty, and staff for outstanding requests;Performs comprehensive security checks on all systems and maintains logs related to these assessments; - Provides recommendations and data to dean(s) for urgent and critical decisions;- Collaborates and acts as a liaison with UA Little Rock central IT Services to plan future efforts, to ensure quality and coordination of services, planning development, and implementation of new services and systems offered or supported by the university.

Assisted in managing and maintaining enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. Data transfer and modeling using ETL tools; development of data cubes, models, and reports.
