Carin D. Groh, CPA, JD, MBA, passed the bar in 2022 and comes to practice of law with over 30 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from La Verne University. She maintains licensure as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.She possesses substantial government auditing experience. After graduating with a Master’s in Business Administration from California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo, Carin accepted a position with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General, where she conducted performance audits within the agency. Several years later, she accepted a position with the Defense Contract Audit Agency, where she led award-winning teams in auditing government contracts performed by Fortune 500 companies.Carin has experience working with all phases of startups and small businesses, from the establishment to dissolution.Carin received her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law. During her time at St. Mary’s, she received the Dean’s Award and Advocacy and Litigation award for participation on St. Mary’s highly ranked National Team. She represented St. Mary’s as the inaugural fellow for the American Bar Association’s Consortium on Police Practices. She completed the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section’s initial Criminal Justice Practice Ready Clinic. Additionally, she held board positions on The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice and the Board of Advocates.Carin practiced as a Student Attorney in the St. Mary’s Criminal Law Clinic at the Center for Legal and Social Justice for a year. She participated in numerous pro bono services earning membership in the Texas Bar Pro Bono College, where she has been a member since her first year in law school.Since becoming licensed, Carin has worked in the areas of criminal defense at both State and Federal Courts and in personal injury law with preeminent Texas law firms.
