Carina O’Brien is the Head of Strategy for Siemens Mobility in Australia & New Zealand and the founder of Working Mumma. I started my professional journey in the IT industry, working with startup-ups and medium-sized businesses before joining Siemens in 2010. Prior to my current role at Siemens, I worked in Communications as a Business Partner for the Energy Management, Industry, and Drives businesses. I spent four years as the Head of Venues for Monash Sport at Monash University.I have a broad background of experience and industries, combined with my experience as a working mum with two children. I have a Masters in Management and a Bachelor in IT/IS. In 2019 I started Working Mumma when I was 6 months pregnant with my first child. With maternity leave approaching, I went searching for inspiration, community and tips on how to approach this new phase in my life. Determined to return to my career. I found myself disappointed by the lack of useful support, tips, and stories of working mothers available to career-minded mothers. So, like many other people, if you can’t find what you are looking for – build it yourself!In January 2020 I started the Working Mumma podcast and have published 120 episodes with a mix of interviews with experts and solo episodes. Today, Working Mumma is a platform that supports professional women on their journey through motherhood and career, offering programs, digital membership, podcast, and mentoring to help women navigate the challenges of balancing work and family life. My mission is to give women the inspiration, support, and empowerment they need to succeed in their careers while also being present for their families.
