Started as a Saturday worker and over the years progressed to hire manager. Starting at Jewson tool hire in 1999 while still at school I started with cleaning the shop and equipment and progressed through to hire controller. As soon as I left school I went on to do an NVQ in tool hire maintenance and management. I moved to A plant and continued to learn about the bigger plant and working on the hire desk.When I joined Hire station we were set up as a new branch to service the Onecall centre deliveries in London and the surrounding areas, during my time there I also helped set up and train staff on a new computer system, had spells covering other branches, and helping the branch grow from Just 4 employees to a staff of 20 with 10 vehicles and an area workshop.At Travis Perkins I learnt a lot about what it’s like to have to change how I worked, when we didn’t have full control and had to work with the builders merchants, so we could service the customers with the best service we could provide combined together. At Hirebase I spent a couple of months learning the system at the Highgate branch and then went and opened the Hirebase in Barking using the Buildbase customers and getting our own we have successfully achieved our budgets every year since we opened.(this is my proudest achievement) I have also helped train and implement a new operating system in the south east and also become a Clare test trainer for the region.
