Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! I am a highly motivated leader with 25 years’ experience in fundamental leadership positions in the sports environment. I have held some amazing roles, including British Biathlon Development Director, Team Leader Youth Olympic Games 2020 & 2024 and British Nordic Development Team Manager and Pathway lead. This combined with a military foundation of experience has ensured I have delivered impressive results in all goal-driven settings. With an innovative and daring approach to new initiatives, it has guaranteed pioneering ventures have not only succeeded but been placed on a sustainable platform to thrive.After 22 years of service in the Royal Air Force, I began teaching English and have worked at various well-established and reputable language schools in Bavaria, as well as teaching a wide-ranging mix of private students. My students have ranged from school children to pensioners and unemployment courses through to CEOs of major companies.My Nordic skiing career began in 1996 when I was introduced to cross-country skiing at the age of 22. I then went on to represent Great Britain in biathlon for several years before transferring my skills into coaching cross-country and biathlon athletes. Since retiring as an athlete, I have been involved with many Nordic and biathlon teams in Great Britain at national level and in Germany at regional level in varying coaching roles. I've taken all my sporting knowledge and involvement in various organisations and used it to channel everything into the development of biathlon in Great Britain. I'm proud to have spearheaded the vast growth and success of biathlon from grass roots through to Olympic participation.On top of my sport roles and teaching, my German wife and I set up our own company called BritGer, offering English teaching and English-German-English certified translations. We've created a successful partnership where we support each other in our various projects.I'm passionate about English and sport, and I'm always open to new opportunities that might come my way. For instance, a few of my English students asked me to organise a language holiday to the UK. I was thrilled to take a group of eight people around the south of England for a week, and it was a fantastic experience!
