Mr. Eckert has 31 years of military experience, 25 years of which is within Special Operations Forces (SOF) assignments. He has a vast SOF background that is unmatched by many. His military career culminated as the Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) for the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Philippines (JSOTF-P). Currently, Mr. Eckert currently serves as a member of the Joint Expeditionary Team (JET), in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). His most recent support activities were in the support efforts as the Senior JET Advisor in Iraq and Colombia in support of the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (CJSOTF) and the Security Cooperation Office (SCO). While assigned with the CJSOTF, he assisted with the counter small unmanned aerial vehicle (CsUAS) efforts and the employment of new technologies. While assigned to the SCO- Colombia, he identified the need for and assisted in the development of Colombia’s National Counter IED Strategic Strategy and Policy. He also assisted the SCO J5’s with their counter IED portfolio, assisting in building capacity for the Colombian Security Forces. He has also worked with US Southern Command in the drafting of their Counter IED Strategic Strategy. His more than 13 years with JIDO/DTRA and his 31 years of relevant specialized experience with the U.S. Military, demonstrates his ability to meet the duties as an inspirational leader, a strategic and operational planner by competently advising Commanders and their staff at the Corp, Division, Brigade, and Battalion levels. He has demonstrated a thorough proficiency in counter-insurgency operations (COIN) and Attack the Network (AtN) methodologies and is able to convey these methodologies to Commanders and their forces.

Currently Mr. Eckert supports the Security Cooperation Office of Colombia's Strategic Plans Office with their counter improvised explosive device portfolio. In this position Mr. Eckert assist in all aspects that provides the development of plans, training and operations that supports Colombian security force's initiatives from the tactical to strategic levels.
