This involves unloading the items brough to the drop area using a touch screen system to see how many of the item brought on side load FLT and placing into a still and scanning the bar code on the part to check it’s the right item for the customers order. Once the still is full of items using the touch screen print the labels for the end of the stills and requested the FLT to move the still and they driver would know where the order would go as the bay number is on the printed labels. This involved 2 man lifts due to the length of the items being moved all the time some plastic and some metal items.

Car Parts would be required to be prepared for paint spraying, this involved finding the right mental jigs for the parts to fit on to and then find the parts in the warehouse. Then the parts would be on the jigs and using blown with compressed air and in some cases wiped and cleaned. The jig would then be sent to be painted by the robots in the factory. Then taken off when ready and the inspection team would check for any faults in the paint work. The jigs would then be put on a trolley to be used again in the process from the beginning

The Hut Group have lots of products in a huge warehouse in organised location based shelving on 3 floors on racking. The items would be requested and the operation was to find the item using a bar code scanner to locate the item requested then this item would be placed into a tote which in turn would track the item from the operative picking the item(s) then moved to the packing section then to the distribution department. Using a hand held Honeywell device to show the location of the item and quantity of the item required any damaged items would be taken to the advised location.

I am not shy at talking and this was a strength when working at M&S via the Capita customer services department taking inbound calls for sales enquiries, assisting customer to place orders and taking payments, some customers also advised of a complaint and I advised the customer of good will gesture and options to assist and ensure the customers needs were being met if the customer was not assured the complaint was passed to a higher manager to assist further. Tracking orders and advising of the current status of the order using the many in-house software systems working from home with a laptop and head set.

This was the second Job in the CCTV industry and is much like the Dowshu job but more focused on repair and Technical Support in the role I have learned about new Technology such as facial recognition and people counting the most advanced is the Video Analytics hardware and software using Thermal Cameras and visiting the FLIR camera manufacture in Spain (Thank You BI3) . In this role I created a basic RMA system that was used to track and trace the repairs system.In this role I gained experience of all kinds of other manufactures other than the OEM products also installing cameras into the building as and when required. Cable running internal wires and a little / external and keeping my skills on my toes always learning new technology and hardware software links .

The company would need the configuration engineer to follow a script in preparing computer hardware and software ensuring the correct settings for the hardware was configured as requested. The IT equipment would include windows, Linux and Apple products and laptops as well as desktop and mini PC. Due to the time of loading software there would be multiple projects being worked on at the same time once completed they hardware would be moved to the dispatch team to send out to the customer.

The company is linked the JD sports the role was order picking items such as cloths and shoes and accessories. Once collected from the warehouse the individual orders from each customer were collated and placed in the relevant cage that there were required to be shipped with for example DHL or Royal Mail.Additional tasks that I took on was to use the hand held computer to refill the items from the bulk ware house to the picking locations and to also consolidate the individual items in the location to make a location available for bulk items to fill the location. The cardboard boxes which multiple items would arrive in from supplier would need to be compacted and I was trained up on how to use the card board compactor. The items that would be returned and the items that the dispatch system rejected would be classed as a duplicate and these items would be placed in a cage and would need to be put back in the location they were picked from this was using the hand held scanning the item and this would give the location for the product.

This was my first job in CCTV after IT course in college and passing the A+ in Hardware and Software, this job involved problem solving issues for customers using PC based DVR equipment analogue cameras and different technologies working with the Dowshu office in cork and relying and sales staff and self learning with the sending fault details to the south Korea software house known as Win4Net with details of faults and fixs testing the fix and also reproducing faults advised by CCTV installers using the DVR and 3rd Party CCTV cameras.Producing CD and manually labeling the CDs for the built DVR with different models and specifications and creating quick guides to help and assist in the operation of the DVR and install. Some site visits were required to apply fix for customers on site and assist in installer training to help usage of equipment and to assist in trade shows on set up of equipment.
