I have selected a few projects I have worked on to give an overview of the type of experience I have.Major Transport and Vehicle Access Project – Sellafield (£15m+)During the past year I have gained valuable experience and developed my technical skills as an individual being involved in a major transport and vehicle access project at Sellafield. I was the assistant designer for a car park which included an initial feasibility study of the area and production of 2D designs, which were revised into a workable and buildable solution to meet the Clients needs. Following on from this I took the 2D design and developed it to a 3D drawing which included;• 2 Junctions into the car park• Mini Roundabout layout• Drainage layout ( appropriate levels)• Cut and fill• Dual use footway/cyclewayMiddlesbrough College – Pedestrian Safety and Traffic Management StudySole designer of a new park layout of an existing site, the car park comprised of a total of 400 spaces with allocated bays for disbled, minibus and electrical charging points. The scheme included the production of construction layout drawings, sign, post and foundation designs with bill of quantities and site clearance. Liaison with the Client with regards to progress/requirements was important, construction needed to be complete in time for the academic year so time management was imperative.Swan House Petrol InterceptorI was the Lead Inspector as part of a two man team, my tasks included organisation with a sub contractor to de-water the interceptor, ordering and collection of the appropriate equipment needed. It was my responsibility to inspect the interceptor and produce a photographic report, noting any significant defects which may affect the future condition of the structure. I gained valuable confined space experience from this.
