Notable Projects: - I was tasked with finding a method to accurately measure the depth of an oil layer floating on water, in a confined space. I investigated appropriate solutions, until I found a suitable option. I organised the hire of the equipment, and proceeded to test the accuracy and effectiveness, both in the laboratory and on site. I reported my findings, and was asked to begin the procurement process to purchase six units. I also prepared the accompanying work instruction which outlined the correct setup and testing procedure, to ensure accurate and consistent results.- I investigated the appropriate application of different substation security systems. This project was a major investigation into alternative security solutions. Criteria included cost, maintenance requirements, system capabilities and mobility. I organised the deployment of a variety of systems to a substation, and begun monitoring and testing. I prepared a report detailing the capabilities being tested, and the testing method. The trial is still underway, however the final report will detail the capabilities, suitability and the overall costs involved.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch is involved in running events which benefit our members. These events include networking evenings, site visits, and educational seminars. As chair I have moved to increase our collaboration with other student groups on campus. One such collaboration is with the Griffith Racing team to assist in the production of an electric race car, another is our collaboration with the Women in Engineering (WiE) group, in hosting the annual engineering networking event.
