    I led a programme team to transform the payments capability across 10 African countries. The transformation laid the foundation for Barclays Africa to advance its payments offering as well as provide a seamless customer experience given the level of automation being delivered. The programme entailed implementing Domestic Low Value, Domestic High Value, International Payments and Instant Payments engines into each country to abstract the payments processing capability out of core banking and into a tiered architecture thereby replacing the manual legacy environment. This is an extremely complex programme in that the payments engines first needed to be developed and then integrated into the current core banking and channel environment. Given the scale of the programme, we adopted principles from Agile and SaFe (Scaled Agile Framework) to enable the multiple development teams to build payments capabilities. In addition, this enabled accelerated customer value and incremental delivery of the capability.
