Large Global company dealing with a variety of areas - Agriculture, Business Solutions, Consumer Products, Social Infrastructure and Rail.Responsible for the following with Hitachi Australia:- Developed and implemented midterm IT Strategy plan based on business unit requirements. Designed to assist in achieving company goals and objectives- Successfully developed and managed yearly IT & Web Budget. Covering capital assets, leased equipment, operational costs and projects- Regularly reported IT Department progress to Deputy Managing Director- Oversee the Management and administration of the technology ecosystem. This covered all software and hardware (Servers, PC, Network Devices, Telephones)- Developed and Implemented local company IT policies and procedures covering security, system processes and IT systems- Annual review of IT operations for improvement and auditing purpose, using Cobit framework- Coordinated implementation of Global IT Policy & Procedures for IT Managers in Oceania Region- Formulated the Oceania Regional Social Media/Web Marketing and Strategy- Staff Management of a small team, covering areas of IT, Web and Social Media- Carry out Performance appraisals and regular review for IT Staff, with mentoring and career development a key aspect- Successful implementation of various Projects including new systems and systems integration- Managed Vendor Relationships for external services with regular reviews to ensure SLA compliance- Negotiation with external parties for purchasing of hardware, software and contracted services- Scheduling of outages and updates with business unit consideration to minimise impact of downtime- Incident reporting to management for any IT issues, or to Global Security team for major incidents- Formulate backup and recovery strategies with regular testing of all aspects- Assist IT staff with hands on technical support- Train end users on systems and IT policies, individual or group sessions
