Principal Geologist, Deepwater Exploration Group (December 1999-September 2000)Evaluate potential of offshore Mesozoic carbonate trends in Eastern GOM. Extensive 3D and 2D seismic interpretation and integration with well control, basin modeling and potential field data. Integrated new geological concepts, identified play types, evaluated competitor activity, recommended data acquisitions, and mentored new hire.Principal Geologist, Onshore Gulf Coast Exploration Group (November 1994 – December 1999)Regional evaluation, prospect generation, and joint venture recommendations (15/year) along Mesozoic trends from northern Mexico to South Florida utilizing subsurface, potential field, and 3D/2D seismic data. South Texas efforts resulted in the acquisition of 100 sq. mi. of 3D seismic data and 2 exploratory well proposals, while in East Texas integration of 400 sq. mi. of 3D seismic data with existing 2D and new geologic concepts resulted in delineation of over 200 prospects at numerous stratigraphic horizons, Vastar’s leasing of 100,000+ acres, and participation in 2 exploratory wells. Annually evaluated 30± farm-out/lease requests on Vastar’s 800,000 acre East Texas mineral fee holdings (Oligocene through Jurassic targets).

Senior Geologist, Frontier Exploration Group(1/93 - 11/94) - Frontier exploration evaluation of numerous basins in the Midwest, Colorado Plateau, and Southeastern U.S., incorporating international analogs where appropriate. Establish and rank prospect inventory for Lower 48 exploration program, and interact extensively with district and R&D counterparts. Obtained approval for $80,000 in technical expenditures and data acquisition, and Vastar’s commitment to spend over $100,000 for leasing 5,000+ acres on 2 prospects in the Illinois Basin.Senior Geologist, Onshore Exploration (5/91 - 1/93) - Conduct frontier basin exploration in Central Texas and Mississippi/Alabama Paleozoic trend, integrating compressional and extensional structural models with seismic, potential field, and geohistory data to develop prospect inventory and propose drilling activity. Delineated 16 prospects and received management approval for $100,000 in technical and $550,000 in leasing expenditures. Recommended participation in 2 Vastar-operated exploratory wells in the Black Warrior Basin.Exploration Geologist, Central and South Texas Onshore (12/90 - 5/91) - Generated regional subsurface maps in Cretaceous and Jurassic trends, recommended development and extension activity on ARCO-interest leases, evaluated and advised management on farm-in/farm-out opportunities and competitor activity, and coordinated technical support.Development Geologist, Miocene Trend, Offshore Louisiana and Texas (8/87 - 12/90) - Performed detailed development- and extension-oriented subsurface structural/stratigraphic evaluation in order to manage, evaluate, and initiate drilling activity on 16 wells, contributing 80 BCFG proven reserves. Exploration Geologist, Offshore Texas and Louisiana (8/82 - 8/87) - Generated exploratory prospects and regional studies in Miocene and Pliocene depositional trends for offshore lease sales, contributing 55 BCFG via five gas discoveries.
