Currently the Site Manager for Hilltop Leaf which is a plant-based medicine company. My role entails a wide variety of responsibilities mainly operations, resource and personnel management, Safety, Health Environment & Fire (SHEF), Security and IT Management.As the company is evolving and growing, I have managed a number of projects including:• Research & Development planning in Cultivation• Implementing operating systems for trading to work alongside our Quality Management System.• A number of construction and expansion projects from design to installation.I have specialised in a number of areas over the course of my career such as: • Firefighting – began my career as a Firefighter in the RAF and continued within the Defence Fire Service and then later to Capita Fire and Rescue spanning a fire service career of 22 years.• Training – I have a passion for training and passing on what I have learned. Becoming a Civilian Instructor for the Air Cadets in my spare time as a starting point, then attaining BA Instructor, RTI Instructor, Instructor Supervisor and Assessor.• Management – Continuous Professional Development and self-improvement are what I constantly strive for. To push the limits of your capability and out of the comfort zone we better ourselves and those around us. I have grasped every opportunity that has presented itself and progressed throughout my career from Crew Manager to Station Manager and more recently a Site Manager. To be in a position to help others, to support and further their own careers is a great responsibility and very rewarding.• IT – With over 32 years experience in electronics and 28 years in computers and IT and 13 years managing a computer business, IT has been a big part of my life and career. I have always viewed this as a hobby rather than work as it comes naturally and is very enjoyable. In every walk of employment, I have utilised my IT skills to a high level, I have been awarded and rewarded for my contributions over the years and will continue to utilise my skills to provide improvements in work systems, training and automation.• Fire Safety – Naturally working within the Fire Service, Fire Safety and Fire Prevention is a fundamental part of everyday life. Having attained a qualification as a Fire Safety Auditor and Practitioner, I have worked throughout Scotland and Northern England carrying out Fire Risk assessments and audits on a wide range of MOD facilities. More recently I have been involved in developing the fire strategy during the design phase of Hilltop Leaf Expansion projects.
