Life-changing opportunities don’t always arrive when you’re prepared for them. Sometimes they call for a leap of faith into learner territory. 

As a young community development professional, I was offered my dream job as CEO of a small charity in South Africa. Despite my excitement at the opportunity, my first thought was, “I’m five years from being ready for this role.” I still had so much to learn! Then faith kicked in and I realized I’d always feel “five years away” - unless I accepted the job. The life of service and significance I envisioned required embracing the challenge. 

That simple step launched a decade of growth as a leader and continues to make a transformative impact even after my transition back home to Canada. It gave me skills, confidence, and range to deliver results across varied settings.• I’ve built small non-profits into effective, sustainable organizations with a clear vision and capable leadership.• I bring clarity and strategic insight to decisions and restore stability in seasons of uncertainty or transition.• I provide an experienced perspective on leadership challenges and design ‘low-drag’ processes for engagement, programming, execution, and reporting that make teams more effective.• I elevate levels of communication through skilled writing, presentation, and facilitation.Today, I continue to lead charitable partnerships in Southern Africa, while offering strategic consulting services to leaders of Canadian businesses, non-profits, the public sector, and Indigenous organizations.
