ATC Training DepartmentDuring this period I was responsible to the Training Officer for the training and development of young Provisional Aircraft Controllers having completed their basic training and phase 1 training course (ATC Assistants Course). Ensuring the assistants completed their task books in a timely manner and qualified in order to occupy the different assistant positions throughout ATC and become a member of the shift pattern system.Carrying out continuous training and development for Trainee Assistants as well as qualified military assistants as well as civilian assistants, ensuring all assistants were validated on procedures Bi-annually. Maintaining and compiling shift rosters ATC assistants.During staff shortages I would also step in to ensure positions were manned, these positions would include Radar Assistant, Talk down Assistant, Admin and Runway controller.
