As publisher and editor in chief of A Needle Pulling Thread magazine (ANPTmag) I love to plan and determine all content for all quarterly issues together with our creative team of needlework experts. I develop a content calendar for as much as a year ahead of time and manage writers, editors, freelancers, photographers, and type setter. To get the look I want for our readers, I take the majority of the pictures, a very strong element in the magazine, and I lay out each issue as per my artistic vision. I've been delving in the graphic design of the magazine, and steering its artistic image. So much fun! Therefore developing strong graphic arts skills in InDesign and Illustrator. I LOVE what I do. On a regular basis I ensure accurate and time-bound production of ANPTmag by:- creating a theme and colour palette for upcoming issues, this involves research in needlework trends and colour trends- gathering articles, instructions, contact information - setting editorial policies- creating features and departments in an issue according to needlework trends- communicating with designers, editors, and advertisers upcoming themes, colour palettes and project submissions- coordinating photo shoots- proofreading and editing all content (articles and instructions), for type setting- laying out each feature in InDesign as per its personality, choosing the right graphics, pictures, diagrams, and patterns AND reworking some of the ads in the magazine - signing off on colour correction, press approvals, and paper coating, at the printers and ensuring the final product is bound correctly- creating a community through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other social platforms... to show how happy one can be in making beautiful things with needle and thread.Never a dull moment.
