The Director of Case Management is directly responsible for the implementation of the MS Case Management Consortium pilot program being operated under LESM assisting in the recovery of the survivors of Hurricanes Katrina/Rita. Responsible for the hiring, maintaining and downsizing of case manager supervisors, case managers, data entry and support staff under the MCMC program. Responsible for providing compete and accurate reports to the MCMC field management team. Responsible for in-house training of staff, holding staff meetings, reviews of case files to ensure compliance with MCMC policy and procedures and identifying problems cases, helping to trouble shot and follow these cases through closure. Acts as a liaison for the affiliate with other MCMC affiliates and outside agencies also providing case management services. Provides reports and statistics as requested. Responsible for the review and presentation of all case files from all agencies seeking to receive financial assistance through the Long Term Recovery Committee for their clients unmet needs following Hurricanes Katrina/Rita, which included Gulf Coast Community Foundation - MS Hurricane Recovery Funds, The Salvation Army Request for Funds and The American Red Cross Means to Recovery. I was responsible for the supervision of the two case managers and the construction supervisor employed under the Long Term Recovery Committee. Assisted in conducting weekly meetings of all agencies seeking financial assistance where clients were deemed eligible or ineligible for requesting assistance from the funding groups. Responsible for writing grant requests from Church World Services and providing reports and receipts showing that monies were appropriately used. I assisted in developing the Long Term Recovery Committee procedures and the bringing of agencies into the LTRC process.Biloxi Diocese Long Term Recovery Program

I initially started as a case manager responsible for assisting clients in receiving assistance through the Biloxi Diocese/Catholic Charities funds. I was promoted to Case Manager Supervisor where I was responsible for the supervision of 12 case managers working in recovery efforts following Hurricanes Katrina/Rita. I assisted in developing the Long Term Recovery procedures, processes and forms for the Long Term Recovery Program. I represented the agency at the Long Term Recovery Committees of Jackson, Harrison and Hancock Counties. I oversaw the distribution of funds following approval through a presentation to the case management committee

I was responsible for the recruitment, training and licensing of foster, foster/adopt, relative and adoptive homes for abused children coming through the Dept. of Human Services Children and Family Services Division in Jackson County. I also assisted in Harrison and Hancock Counties. I developed a foster and adoptive parent association, which operated a closet to provide needed supplies and services as children came into custody. Assisted in the determination with the Social Workers of which foster homes or adoptive homes children would be placed in order to meet the child's needs. Following Hurricane Katrina, worked with the National Foster Parent Association in providing over a $100,000.00 in donated funds to needy foster and adoptive homes throughout the entire State of Mississippi, who received damages from the hurricane.

I developed and operated a Day Treatment Program for the Mental Health Center in the Intermediate School in Lucedale, MS. I was responsible to the treatment plans and daily activities of children who were deemed to need additional services in a school setting in order to achieve and learn. I provided one-on-one instruction, group and peer instruction and assisted teachers when the children were in the classroom being disruptive. I also worked with the parents to assist them in the home setting and to ensure that they kept their children in school.

I oversaw the day to day operations of a therapeutic group home for teenagers, initial of both sexes and then of females. Hired and maintained house parents, purchased supplies, oversaw repairs to the facility, provided training for staff and assisted teenagers in working through their problems. I worked with the Pascagoula school System and the local Mental Health professionals to ensure that the clients received services that they needed. Completed case plans for all clients enrolled in the group home

I determined eligibility for AFDC and Food Stamps. I was promoted to a Social Worker charged with investigating allegations of abuse and neglect. I was responsible for investigating and providing reports to the Youth Court in cases requiring court intervention. Promoted to Social Worker Supervisor II, supervising 8 social workers and then transferred to Supervisor II in Child Support overseeing the fiscal portion of child support, where I was responsible for the payments made and keeping accurate ledgers of all payments coming in and going out to the custodial parents.
