Carla Smith is Client Services Manager and Representative for Pathologists Diagnostic Laboratory, PA. Carla manages the Client Services Department at PDL and is the key contact for physician offices, pathology issues concerning billing, reporting, couriers, etc. She is responsible for maintaining relationships with our physician offices, their staff and patients. Carla also maintains our pathologists credentialing files, works with our billing service and hospitals to keep information current.Carla graduated from Surry Community College with an associates degree in Business with a concentration in Retail Management. She came to Medical Park Hospital in 1981 where she worked in admissions, accounts receivables, billing and insurance. She began working for Pathology Service Associates in 1994, which became Pathologists Diagnostic Services in 1996. Carla was practice manager for the local satellite office of Pathology Service Associates billing service from 1997 until 1999 until she accepted the position of Client Service/Marketing Representative and Practice Manager for Pathologists Diagnostic Services, pllc. She held this position until the acquisition of the anatomic pathology laboratory in 2007, where she then focused on Client Services.In 2014 Carla took on an additional role as Client Services Manager. Client Services provides administrative and clerical support to the lab and our clients.Carla is an active member and former president of the Winston Salem Medical Group Managers. She is a member of the North Carolina Medical Group Managers.Carla is married with one son, and lives on a working farm in southwest Davie County.
