Responsible for implementing the Mayor’s agenda of the Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) program for the City of Baltimore. Focused on advocating, educating, informing, and promoting the interests of Small, Minority and Women owned businesses in the City of Baltimore. Responsible for reviewing, interpreting, evaluating, and implementing inter-departmental policies, practices, and procedures. In addition, monitor the efficacy and compliance with City, State, and Federal laws and regulations. Chair the monthly MBE CitiStat meeting where city agencies report on their MBE/WBE procurement activity. Responsible for the enhancing the Annual Procurement Fair, by increasing participating exhibitors from 30+ to more than 100 each year of my tenure by inviting state, federal, and corporate companies that had contracting opportunities. Mayor’s representative and board member of the Baltimore Development Corporation, Visit Baltimore, the East Baltimore Development Inc. Inclusionary Committee, and the Red Line Transit Committee. Creator and host of Baltimore Business Link, a half hour daily television show on the city’s cable channel featuring various economic development projects in the city, and emphasis on the inclusion of minority and women owned firms.
