I direct a team of reporters working across the world to cover breaking news, general assignment and beat-specific stories in the U.S. and internationally. The reporters I manage and mentor have expertise ranging from criminal justice, social justice, disability rights, pop culture stories, women’s health rights and the environment. In addition to assigning stories, I help reporters develop strong, original pitches that speak to HuffPost’s person-first storytelling ethos. I guide reporters along the reporting and writing process, providing big-picture feedback, strategizing research and interview efforts, and editing stories for clarity, concision and creativity.In a fast-paced industry where journalists are consistently exposed to challenging, sensitive, and sometimes traumatic events, I prioritize my team’s mental health, resilience and well-being, while also ensuring they are empowered to confidently cover the stories they feel most passionate about in a sustainable way.
