Investigator - Illegal Waste Exports Team, National Enforcement Service

Working within the Illegal Waste Sites Team, West Midlands Area, specialising in Misdescription of Waste.

I have spent the last year establishing and leading the West Midlands Area Small Claims pilot. I utilised the MCOL / Small Claims track of the County Court to address non-payment of EA invoices as part of the overall debt process.

I deal with the auditing of logistics invoices billed to our client companies by their logistics providers, encompassing air, ocean and road transport domestically and globally. On the invoice processing side, I deal with invoices on behalf of a large british motor vehicle manufacturer.I have also been assisting in the implementation process for a new customer based in Germany including corresponding with their German-speaking carriers.

Photography originally was my hobby but, having successfully completed an online diploma, I was able to use it in order to flexibly bring in some additional income whilst I was caring for my children. I worked at Veritek part-time for 5 and half years in combination with caring for my children.I graduated from warehouse tasks, such as dealing with goods-in, goods-out, packing and sending out orders, and general stock control, to a mainly office based role administering part warranty claims on behalf of a Japanese supplier.This position particularly demonstrated my flexibility, ability to work independently as well as my intercultural and linguistic competence.

I was recruited as a native speaker of English on a fixed term contract for an online shop project. I was involved in translation mainly from German into English and covering such things as website terms and conditions and product descriptions.This position particularly demonstrated my competence in German.

I worked as part of a small team using data mining software (Infozoom) to detect and investigate fraudulent warranty claims in the EMEA region for a large American multinational information technology company. I worked in the life assurance new business department processing life assurance proposals and issuing life assurance policies. I was promoted to section supervisor after 2 years with responsibility for 4 administrators and dealt with branch underwriting.This position demonstrated my self-motivation, maturity and ability to take on responsibility at a young age.
