About Carla Míguez Bóveda
I graduated in English<>Galician/Spanish translation in 2020 and have since then focused my research on the translation of non-binary language. I am pursuing a PhD in Translation and Paratranslation at the University of Vigo and I am currently writing a thesis on the translation of queer, didactic graphic novels, the use of non-binary language in said graphic novels and whether specialised training on queer translation is necessary. I hold a 2022 grant for predoctoral contracts from the University of Vigo and have written papers for several journals and congresses in the fields of translation, language, gender and LGBTIA+ studies.
