As a member of the Instructional Leadership Team, I oversee student services and supports related to MTSS in 40 Head Start/GSRP classrooms. I manage the student assessment/screening systems (Teaching Strategies Gold, PELI, MyIGDI, ASQ), while supporting staff with implementation. I input student’s behavior reports into SWIS and provide reports to assist staff it utilizing the data for student intervention planning. I gather and compile program-wide data data for various teams, for discussion, analysis, and planning, aligned to program and KRESA goals. I facilitate program-wide Data Meetings three times a year for staff, and guide them in setting goals and utilizing data for classroom and tiered supports for students. As the Head Start Disabilities Coordinator, I support staff and families whose children have IEPs, guide staff in providing interventions to students, and coordinate the process for children who need a referral to the Preprimary Evaluation Team (PET). I coordinate the Family Service Team Meetings (FST) for Head Start/GSRP. The FST has a focus on the whole child, building off a child’s strengths, and involves all members of the team including parents, to problem solve around challenging behavior, social emotional learning, and academic concerns. Similarly, I developed and now coordinate the county-wide Behavior Support Team (BST) process for GSRP, working with private providers and those in school districts, while partnering with KCReady4s staff. I oversee the curriculum development process and integrate with TS Gold objectives. As the Assistant SCECH Coordinator for our program, I collaborate in planning professional development and inputting courses, events, and staff participation into MDE MOECS and MiRegistry systems. As a member of the Kalamazoo County PreK PD Planning Committee, I collaboratively plan professional development for teachers and directors with staff from KRESA and KCReady4s.

Administration of the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) grant in Kalamazoo County, which consisted of 24 programs and 78 classrooms, in school districts and private community-based programs. Supervised the Early Childhood Specialists and Executive Assistant. Collaborated across all early childhood programs in the county, including GSRP, Head Start, KCReady4s, and ECSE. Collaboration focused on professional development, high quality programming, program evaluation, instruction and assessment. Additional focus on early literacy for the county and strengthening the bridge from preschool to kindergarten. Developed systems and processes at the county-level to support staff and ensure high-quality Pre-K programming. Organized and conducted enrollment and recruitment for not only GSRP, but also partner organizations of Head Start and KCReady4s. Led the team and providers through the process of on-site grant monitoring from the Michigan Department of Education, and follow-up of compliance items.

Berrien Springs, Michigan

School Improvement Facilitator for the Regional Assistance Grant (RAG) through MiExcel for Benton Harbor Area Schools. Provided systems-level support with the PLC process, data analysis, leadership teams, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school-wide PBIS to a high-needs district which has several identified Priority schools. Created and facilitated a series of professional development geared towards individual needs at each level: elementary, middle school, high school, alternative high school, principal leadership. Integrated school improvement processes with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) at the building and district level. Member of each building's leadership team and the district leadership team. Conducted building and district needs assessments and used this information to set goals and action plans. Supported implementation of Consent Agreement with the Department of Treasury and development of Partnership Agreement with the Michigan Department of Education for the district.

Educational Consultant for Early Literacy and MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support) across the county at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I was the MTSS Coordinator, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support) Coordinator, SWIS (School Wide Information System) Facilitator, and School Improvement Facilitator for the county. I facilitated the MTSS Implementation Team, MTSS Technical Assistance Group, County Leadership Council, and Principal Academies at the ISD. I worked with all nine school districts within St. Joseph county in the areas of literacy, MTSS, school improvement, PBIS, interventions, and any other areas where they requested my assistance. I led many professional development sessions for ISD itinerant staff, teachers, and educational leaders. Developed and led the Literacy Leaders Network to support literacy coaches as they provided literacy coaching and services to staff at the building and district levels.

Beardsley Elementary

Planned and conducted intervention groups for K-6 students for math and reading. Used student assessment data to determine needs of students and developed instruction to meet student needs. Supported paraprofessionals with their intervention group duties.

Taught 1st grade at Beardsley Elementary in Elkhart, Indiana. Leadership experience as secretary of the Curriculum and Instruction committee, coordinator, recorder and member of the General Education Intervention team, and staff trainer for MClass Math & Reading/DIBELS. I was also the 1st grade data team leader. I spent one year as the Co-Data Coordinator within the building.

Taught Kindergarten, while providing flexible grouping throughout the day to meet student needs. Encouraged parent involvement and on-going communication between school and home.
