Some of my duties included sign & exhibit initial designing, logo design, branding & identity, vehicle lettering, converting initial designs to plot or router files, plot & cut vinyl, weed & mask vinyl, and apply for a finished job. Answer phones, work directly with clients, order stock, keep inventory, hand paint signs, help design and build prototype signage or exhibits, draw patterns, help put together needed paperwork for permits and zoning offices, color match for the paint dept., and occasionally help in other areas of the shop.I've developed a few special talents with this job, they are as follows;1) Read napkin hieroglyphics. 2) Read minds with minimal errors.3) Read garbled chicken scratches that slightly resemble text. What I am trying to learn at this point in time is to complete jobs prior to the jobs' existence. I will keep you posted on my progress.

I teach grade school children the basics of drawing. We discuss artist of the past and present. We touch on how art is used in visual communications found daily in print and on TV. I give them things to think about throughout the next coming week until we get together again by giving them assignments such as, find me an example of art used in a visual communication found in their home. I let them bring it in, if they can, for a show and tell. At the end of each class we spend the last few minutes cleaning up and having our own little art show. Above all, I teach them that everyone has different styles and interpretations of artworks. Their masterpieces do not have to look like someone else's. I teach them to do artworks to their own liking and not to become dependent on the opinion of someone else. If they are creating and giving it their all, and they like what they create, they are every bit as much artists as Michael Angelo, Piccaso , or Monet.

I worked in the art dept. mostly dealing with 24 hour proofing. If we had 100 rolls of film come in on any particular day(super slow season), we had 24 hours to do any corrections needed to the developed prints. If we had 1000+ rolls of film, we had 24 hours to do any needed corrections to the developed prints. In the beginning years of employment with Buckeye I did retouching by hand with Kodak dyes and a paint brush. Glasses glare, dust or marks from the printer, red eye,, etc......In the later years some photographers preferred digital retouching with Adobe Photoshop. Restoration, repair, remove blemishes, pimples, red eye, glasses glare, and braces, etc........I have the skills to perform the tasks with either process.
