I enjoy working both in and out of the office, as it’s important to meet with clients whenever possible, which we believe provides the foundations for a strong and long lasting business relationship between clients and Dufton Kellner Ltd, which is evident from our high client retention figures.Whilst we do have such an extensive portfolio of clients working in many different sectors, I also personally specialise in providing accounting services to Solicitors, Charities and G.P’s, which requires specialist knowledge of the legal framework surrounding them, together with compliance of the additional reporting requirements.I enjoy meeting new clients who come to us for our general accounting services, management accounts and to consult our tax accountants. At Dufton Kellner Ltd I perform various tasks which makes my job different every day. Prior to working as one of the accountants at Dufton Kellner Ltd, I worked in another accounting firm called Michael Swift & Co employed as an Accounts Manager. While working at Michael Swift & Co I was able to develop my accounting knowledge and skills that I now use at Dufton Kellner Ltd Wirral accountants.One of my key responsibilities while working at Michael Swift & Co Wirral accountants was to be fully responsible for looking after a small portfolio of clients. I was tasked with managing each client’s accounts, undertaking audits, tax compliance and holding final client meetings. Some of these responsibilities are very similar to those I have in my current role as part of a team of tax accountants at Dufton Kellner. Another key responsibility at the accounting firm was to carry out forensic accounting for clients, which mainly involved completing loss of earnings reports for a variety of different situations, ranging from someone having an accident, being assaulted, medical negligence and also fraud. This part of my job involved a lot of communication with clients and other professionals. I was also required to attend meetings with other experts and would sometimes be called upon to be on standby at Courts when cases didn’t always settle out of court. I was required to attend training courses in London which covered “Expert Witness Training” and “Into Court”.Whilst working at Michael Swift & Co, my keen attention to detail was. This has proved crucial to my current work as part of a team of tax accountants. I am able to identify errors in client’s annual accounts, management accounts and VAT returns. While not being a skill I currently use in my role as one of the tax accountants, my ability to learn and master new skills has proved vital in developing the roles I now perform at Dufton Kellner Ltd

At Haines Watts I started as an Audit Junior performing on site audits, mostly around the North West and North Wales area and attending client meetings, at which time there were over 20 offices within the UK. I quickly gained experience in this area, and as I gained more qualifications, finishing AAT, and then studying ACCA, I was promoted to Audit Senior, taking full responsibility for the audits myself. This involved setting time budgets, planning, liaising with clients, attending stock takes, timetable work to begin, allocate staff members, ensuring work on site was undertaken in a professional and timely manner with minimum disruption to clients, complete files back at the office, review work of juniors, then ensure all sections were reviewed and signed off by partners. This has provided me the vital experience I needed to work at Dufton Kellner Ltd who are considered one of the best Wirral accountants.At Haines Watts, I spent the remaining time in the office, mostly completing accounts work for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and group of companies, ranging from incomplete records supplied from one man bands to fully reconciled trial balances from much larger organisations, as well as monthly and quarterly management accounts and VAT returns. I was also responsible for operating the payroll department for a short period of time to cover maternity leave.Very strict time budgets were set for all work undertaken which had to be adhered to, and has provided the ideal foundation to work for Dufton Kellner from to ensure all work is undertaken in an efficient and timely manner, without compromising on quality.
