Core States Group started as a one-person operation serving the fueling industry to become an integrated A/E/C design and delivery firm of 330+ architects, engineers, contractors, and operations staff located in 15 offices nationwide. With ambitions to grow their national presence and expand into new markets, my background and experience setting marketing strategies, fostering employee engagement, and elevating brand awareness while leading and building a dynamic marketing team helped raise Core States' visibility and position them as experts in their markets.

NAC Architecture is an award-winning design firm with 175 talented team members working in offices in Seattle and Spokane, WA, Los Angeles, CA, and Shanghai, China with expertise primarily in education (PK-University), healthcare, senior living, and community recreation. Their passion is creating exceptional places for learning, healing, and human development and it shows up in everything they do. I was responsible for rebranding the firm to represent their more modern, contemporary design aesthetic, and I played an integral part in helping them enter the China educational market.

After a four-year hiatus, I returned to MulvannyG2 Architecture, a 350-person international design firm specializing in retail, mixed-use, and corporate offices and interiors, at the height of the recession to serve as a member of the firm's executive leadership team. I built and led an award-winning 12-person marketing and communications creative team, including staff in Shanghai, and I was responsible for leading the rebrand and renaming of the firm to MG2 Architecture.

As an independent consultant, I helped small, mid-sized, and large A/E/C firms develop strategic plans, improve their overall marketing effectiveness, critique their proposals and processes, and coach shortlist interview teams to help them WIN new projects.

Working closely with firm principals and the company’s leadership, I developed marketing, business development and PR strategies that took MulvannyG2 from their “stealth” market position to become the 11th largest architectural firm in the nation based on revenues, one of the top 25 architects in China, and the architect of choice for business leaders worldwide.

Hart Crowser is an environmental consulting firm with offices throughout the U.S., and for 14 years I collaborated closely with five market leaders and the CEO and COO to develop and monitor marketing plans and budgets for each of 12 offices. I led a talented marketing team responsible for client development and retention strategies, all internal and external communications, collateral materials, public relations, advertising, private- and public-sector proposals and shortlist interviews, and special event planning. I was proud to be the first non-technical Associate and shareholder in the firm in recognition of my contributions to the firm's growth and prosperity.

Design International, Westin Hotel’s in-house interior design group, recruited me to develop a new identity and expand its client base. After an exhaustive client and competitive analyses, I rebranded the firm as FORMA and began an aggressive campaign to reposition the firm in the hospitality and commercial office market sectors. Westin Hotels later absorbed the company internally to support its expansion plans.

Working for the firm's owners, Tony Callison and David Lindsey, I was tapped to serve as the firm’s first marketing professional to help them expand and diversify their practice because they were too heavily dependent on one client for business. After rebranding the firm to reflect a more corporate aesthetic, they expanded into commercial office, high technology, hospitality, healthcare and the public sector.
