    "Thunderbirds" Maintenance Officer (Thunderbird #11) during 1997 and 1998 show seasons.As of the beginning of the 1997 season, more than 280 million people in all 50 states and 55 foreign countries have seen the red, white and blue jets in more than 3,400 aerial demonstrations. A Thunderbirds air demonstration is a mix of formation flying and solo routines using F-16 Fighting Falcons. The team performs about 30 maneuvers during a show with the entire show running about an hour and 15 minutes. The Thunderbirds squadron consists of eight pilots (including six demonstration pilots), a flight surgeon, executive officer, maintenance officer, and public affairs officer, plus three civilians and more than 130 enlisted personnel in 25 career fields. The "Thunderbirds" are a selectively manned unit that plans and presents air demonstrations to exhibit the capabilities of Air Force combat aircraft while displaying the professional skills of those who fly and maintain those aircraft. Supports recruiting and retention programs while strengthening community relations. Capable of rapid reconfiguration for combat employment worldwide.As the “Thunderbirds” Maintenance Officer, led 96 personnel in the maintenance of 11 F-16C/D aircraft and manages assets valued in excess of $286M. Directed aircraft maintenance and logistics effort for all Thunderbird deployments, official air demonstrations, and home station maintenance and operations training requirements. Supervised personnel in 18 AFSCs encompassing all aspects of aircraft maintenance. Demonstrated the professional competence of Air Force personnel during local, national, and international public relations events, stimulating public interest and understanding of the Air Force mission.
