I have more than 20 years experience litigating patents on behalf of large and small clients. My practice focuses on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and Hatch-Waxman Paragraph IV ANDA litigations. I have tried patent infringement cases in the federal district courts and argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. I have extensive experience in all phases of patent litigation: evaluating litigation risks, developing litigation strategies, managing discovery, deposing witnesses, briefing and arguing dispositive motions, preparing cases for trial, direct and cross-examination of trial witnesses, and briefing and arguing appeals.I work closely with Lahive & Cockfield's biotechnology, chemistry and high technology practice groups in litigating small and large molecule drug patents, as well as medical device patents.My experience ranges from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to academia to large-firm practice. I began my career as a patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and subsequently served nearly 10 years as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.
