Realcover is the Captive Insurer of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales. Realcover was launched on March 2004 after the collapse of HIH with the purpose of providing Real Estate Agents with quality Professional Indemnity Insurance at a reasonable cost.My role at Realcover is to provide all Accounting, Board Reporting, APRA Reporting, Regulatory matters and day to day financial assistance including Investments. I am the main contact for External Audit and assist with providing data for Actuaries where required.

The FSAA is the preeminent Association for Accountants involved in the Insurance and Reinsurance Industry. The FSAA provides a forum for education and networking for financial services accountants. Each year the FSAA runs a number of well received training courses covering General & Life Accounting issues. Each year the FSAA holds its Annual Conference as well as Industry Tax Days (most years) and a number of discussion groups covering Tax and Statutory Reporting.I have been the outsourced Accountant for the FSAA since early 2008 responsible for the full accounting, reporting and audit liaison.

During a period of time spent outside the Insurance Industry, while working in a Chartered Tax Practice I was able to obtain the necessary experience along with additional part-time University study to obtain Tax Agent Registration.

Was able to obtain the necessary experience in the preparation of all types of taxation returns to enable me to become a Registered Tax Agent.Assisted the Principal in the practice management including planning, procedures manuals, budgeting & new business development.

Financial Controller and Company Secretary.Responsible for the full acccounting function of a Lloyds Coverholder including the preparation of all Statutory Accounts, Tax, GST , FBT returns. Preparation of Lloyds premium & claims returns. Claims management. Danish Re Group closed the Australian & Singapore operations in mid 2002. I managed the run-off of the Australian operation until September 2004 when the balance was transferred to the UK to finalise.
