I first started my experience in high school where I decided I wanted to do electrical engineering. In my junior year I took a PLTW (Project Lead the Way) course to fulfill my final science credit, Principles of Engineering. My parents both told me I would do well in engineering based on my problem-solving skills and curiosity to figure things out. Within the class I was exposed to all the main types of engineering mechanical, electrical, civil, and software, out of all these disciplines the concepts of electrical engineering intrigued me the most, and in this class I gained the abilities to provide good documentation on my work as my teacher taught me to write with the mindset that someone who does not know a thing can pick up my work and understand what I am doing and continue where I left off. In the summer before my senior year, I went to UW-Platteville to do their Explore Engineering Summer Camp and was exposed to all their main engineering disciplines mechanical, electrical, software, industrial, civil, engineering physics, and renewable energy. Through the camp I got to dive deeper into how each discipline runs and once again the electrical course continued to spark my interest and it was then I decided to do electrical engineering as my major in college. Finally, in my senior year I took the PLTW Digital Electronics course and learned how to design circuits by hand on a breadboard and on a simulation as well as trouble shoot problems, solder components onto a circuit board, and furthered my documentation skills.
